How to upscale a video

  1. 01

    Open your video

Any video, in almost any format — the smaller or softer it is, the more it gains. It stays on your device.

  2. 02

    Pick a size and compare

Choose 720p, 1080p, 1440p or 4K, and look at any frame before and after — at actual pixels, where the difference shows.

  3. 03

    Upscale and download

The AI works through every frame on your device; then download the MP4, with its sound.

Why use Cutlia for this

AI, not just bigger pixels

Edges, text and textures are drawn anew at the bigger size — where ordinary scaling only stretches and blurs.

See it before you wait

Compare any frame side by side, zoomed to actual pixels, and get an estimate of how long your video takes on your device.

Made for animation too

Cartoons and anime get their own mode: clean lines and flat colors, and twice as quick.

Private, free, no watermark

It runs on your computer's graphics chip in the browser: your video is never uploaded, and there's no sign-up.

Frequently asked questions

How is AI upscaling better than just resizing?

Resizing stretches the pixels a video has, so it comes out bigger but soft. The AI has learned what detail looks like and draws edges, text and textures anew at the bigger size, cleaning up compression blocks on the way.

How long does it take?

The AI looks at every frame on your own device, so it depends on your computer: on a recent laptop a 480p frame takes around half a second, so a minute of video can take a quarter of an hour or more. The editor shows its estimate for your video before you start.

Can it fix any video?

It brings back sharpness and cleans up compression, but it can't invent what was never filmed: a face far away in a tiny video stays rough. Small, old and compressed videos gain the most.

Which sizes can I upscale to?

720p, 1080p, 1440p or 4K — up to six times the original's size, in its own shape (vertical videos stay vertical).

Which browsers work?

It needs WebGPU, which runs the AI on your graphics chip: the latest Chrome, Edge or Safari on a computer works best. Where it's missing, the editor says so.

Is it really free?

Yes. Cutlia is free to use with no account, no trial and no watermark on your export. The site is paid for by the ads on it, and your files never leave your device.
